Wireless video solutions provider xG Technology's Vislink business has entered an agreement with Panasonic System Solutions Europe to provide video communications technology for an assortment of rail projects.
Vislink’s video transmission systems have the capability to improve the overall safety and efficiency of passenger rail services.
The solutions are ideally suited for operations involving high-speed vehicles and are able to mitigate the effects of shock and vibration, as well as challenging radio frequency conditions.
Vislink operations head outside Americas James Walton said: “We are pleased to embark on this exciting partnership with Panasonic to introduce our technology to the rail market, where it has the opportunity to significantly improve efficiency of operations, leading to new and better services, enhanced reliability and improved passenger safety.
“We have a successful history of working with the team at Panasonic, combining our wireless systems with their broadcast video products for use at many events and installations around the world.”
The collaboration will leverage Vislink’s expertise in on-board wireless technologies developed for real-time broadcasting, in addition to the company's proficiency in providing mission-critical video solutions for law enforcement, defence and other applications.
