Turkey-based Bozankaya has selected Trelleborg’s industrial antivibration solutions for its tram project in Kayseri.
The tram project has been commissioned by Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, which originally appointed Bozankaya to produce the 33m-long standard-gauge light rail vehicles for the project in August 2014.
Bozankaya project manager Mehmet Özdemir said: “Trelleborg’s industrial antivibration solutions operation offered a suitable product that fitted our specification, and we accepted it as a proven and mature product range.
“Trelleborg was extremely open to working with us and we look forward to completing the project at the end of the year.”
Each trams is expected to accommodate 392 passengers each once fully operational and increase daily capabilities of the tramway to more than 150,000 people.
Trelleborg has supplied 1,200 primary and secondary suspension springs, which will be fitted to the trams.
