The Victoria government in Australia has awarded a design and construction contract to Ducon for a new railway station in Epsom.
The government has invested around $7.76m to build a new station at Epsom and make improvements to infrastructure at Eaglehawk to facilitate an increase in services to the station.
The rail services from Epsom will also improve travel times to and from Melbourne and Bendigo.
The infrastructure improvements to be made at Eaglehawk Station include the construction of a new Disability Discrimination Act compliant ramp to access the pedestrian crossing.
VicTrack will deliver Epsom and Eaglehawk Rail improvements on behalf of Public Transport Victoria.
Works under the projects will commence in mid-2014 and are expected to be completed by the end of 2014.

By GlobalDataVictoria Minister for Public Transport Terry Mulder said that work to finalise the preliminary design and signalling design prior to the tendering process has helped to ensure the station site is ready for construction.
"Following last year's site investigations, the project team completed additional preliminary design work to increase the amount of car parking spaces to 100, therefore providing an additional 40 spaces for Epsom Station users," added Mulder.
The new Epsom station will be located on the Echuca line, south of Howard Street, between the railway line and Station Street.
Epsom station will operate four trains every weekday, following its opening.
