A European subway operator has selected Taiwan-based Korenix to install its real-time subway surveillance and remote control system.
The system uses high-powered, ruggedized 802.3at PoE-compliant M12 switches and 802.11n bandwidth wireless APs to provide reliable video surveillance, which resists vibration and shock on moving platforms by ensuring the uninterrupted communication of high-speed video through the formed MSR rings of its gigabit ports.
In addition, JetWave 2450 wireless N access points will provide high performance and real-time wireless transmission, providing high-quality remote surveillance of the carriages.
The project aims to develop an innovative and bandwidth-efficient communication system to transmit large data rate communications from carriages to the control centre.
The installation consists of over 700 JetNet 6710G-M12 PoE networking switches and 100 JetWave 2450 wireless access points.
In each carriage of the train a single JetNet 6710G-M12 switch will be installed to power up the cameras using the 30W power of its 48V PoE ports and simultaneously collect the captured images.
The ruggedized wired and wireless solution helps the train operator transfer live video images and other information captured from the carriages to the control centre on a real-time basis with no system loss or failure.
