Bombardier Transportation has secured a repeat order to supply 32 OMNEO Premium double-deck trainsets comprising 256 cars to the French National Railway Company, SNCF Mobilités.
The order forms part of the original $444m contract signed in 2010, which involved the delivery of 860 double-deck trains for deployment across France.
The new trainsets are expected to operate in the Centre-Val de Loire Region on the Paris-Orléans-Tours and Paris-Bourges et Paris-Montargis-Nevers lines.
Bombardier Transport France president Laurent Bouyer said: “This order of OMNEO Premium trains from the Centre-Val de Loire Region confirms the demand for spacious, modern, comfortable trains for intercity journeys.
“These trains from the OMNEO double-deck platform are designed and produced by Bombardier teams on our Crespin site in the Hauts-de-France Region.”
Bombardier is scheduled to begin delivery of the trains in 2020 and complete the handover by 2022.
