UK-based rolling stock manufacturer Vivarail has secured a contract from KeolisAmey, the future operator of the Wales and Borders rail services, for the delivery of Class 230 D-Trains.
The new trains will feature high-speed internet connectivity, parking spaces for bikes, air-conditioning, complete power supply, and advanced seating arrangement.
Vivarail will deliver five trains to Wales for the final phase of testing and commissioning next year.
Israeli wireless broadband services provider Radwin has secured a contract from Argentine Railway (Ferrocarriles Argentinos) for the installation of its FiberinMotion train-to-ground solution.
The advanced connectivity solution will offer enhanced security features and support closed-circuit TVs (CCTV), VoIP applications and onboard Wi-Fi systems.
The contractual scope includes installation of FiberinMotion train-to-ground solution aboard more than 100 passenger trains operating on Buenos Aires to La Plata line.

Spanish firm CAF Group has been awarded three contracts with a combined value of €100m ($118m) for the supply of trams to operate across rail lines in Luxembourg, Germany and Sweden.
Worth more than €40m ($47.2m), the first contract was awarded by Luxembourg tram line operator Luxtram.
