telent Technology Services has won the HS1 SCSR contract to overhaul the network infrastructure of High Speed 1 (HS1) stations across St Pancras International, Stratford International, Ashford and Ebbsfleet in the UK.
As part of the £7.6m deal, telent will replace the invalid assets across the HS1 stations in line with current industry standards.
telent will install CCTV systems, customer information systems, public address systems, help points and emergency access control systems.
The company will also deploy its station management system, MICA, which is designed to consolidate the management, monitoring and control of stations into a single control system using Wi-Fi.
telent programme director Scott Burt said: “Building on our existing work with HS1, drawing on our expertise and the key partnerships we have developed across the industry, we will be rolling out a solution which will see the HS1 station comms infrastructure future-proofed for years to come.
“Digital transformation at these stations is essential to ensure the smooth running of the HS1 stations.

The project is expected to modernise the HS1 stations’ existing communication systems and reduce obsolescence.
The upgrade is also set to help more than 30 stakeholders of the stations to meet their specific requirements.
HS1 senior project manager Owen Virrill said: “This is a challenging project and is a key part of HS1’s Protect Strategy.
“HS1 have undertaken a rigorous process to ensure we have appointed a world class Systems Delivery Integrator to provide design, build and installation services, ensuring there is a cultural and behavioural harmony across our values.”
HS1 currently owns and operates High Speed 1, the UK’s first section of high-speed rail, under a 30-year concession.
