The Rail Baltica joint venture (JV) RB Rail AS has issued a tender for the provision of Notified Body (NoBo) services.
In the rail sector, a NoBo is an independent organisation accredited to provide conformity assessments of products and subsystems against the relevant requirements of the European Directive on the Interoperability of the Rail System.
As per the tender, the company will name one NoBo service provider for the entire line during the Rail Baltica Global Project’s design and construction phases.
The provider will be responsible for the assessment of the project trackside infrastructure based on the European Technical Specifications for Interoperability (TSI) requirements, as well as issue necessary EC verification certificates.
The NoBo service provider will check if energy subsystems, trackside infrastructure, command and signalling conform to TSI requirements.
RB Rail AS chief technical officer Mart Nielsen said: “Involvement of NoBo at an early stage of the project is an important step to ensure that Rail Baltica infrastructure, energy, control-command and signalling subsystems will be interoperable, function safely and uninterrupted.”
