Europe was the fastest growing region for machine learning hiring among railway industry companies in the three months ending March.
The number of roles in Europe made up 23.1% of total machine learning jobs – up from 7.9% in the same quarter last year.
That was followed by South & Central America, which saw a -2.3 year-on-year percentage point change in machine learning roles.
The figures are compiled by GlobalData, who track the number of new job postings from key companies in various sectors over time. Using textual analysis, these job advertisements are then classified thematically.

The fastest growing country was Hungary, which saw 0% of all machine learning job adverts in the three months ending March 2021, increasing to 15% in the three months ending March this year.
That was followed by Spain (up 1.7 percentage points), France (-0.2), and the United Kingdom (-0.6).
The top country for machine learning roles in the railway industry is the United States which saw 58.1% of all roles advertised in the three months ending March.
Which cities are the biggest hubs for machine learning workers in the railway industry?
Some 13.8% of all railway industry machine learning roles were advertised in Budapest (Hungary) in the three months ending March.
That was followed by Atlanta (United States) with 9.6%, Bengaluru (India) with 9.3%, and Chicago (United States) with 5.7%.
