Aiming together for future safe train detection
The continuous aim of the Wheel Detection Forum is to develop the integration within the railway industry and to lift the evolution of train detection to the next level together with all interested persons.
Visitors can look forward to an international industry event focusing on axle counters and wheel detection systems. It offers the latest trends in signalling technology, a balanced mix of keynote speeches and practical sessions as well as technical lectures in an informal atmosphere.
The third Wheel Detection Forum has more than 15 speakers from various fields, particularly from research and development. These experts will offer valuable insights into highly topical knowledge. This should result in a viable platform as a basis for operators to enter into dialogue and exchange their experiences with system integrators, manufacturers, consultants and researchers as well as representatives from academies and professional associations.
Event Location & Technical Site Visits
The Wheel Detection Forum 2015 will take place at the conference hall and foyer of the Austria Trend Hotel Park Royal Palace. Vienna’s newest hotel highlight stands right next to the "Technisches Museum" which will also be the location for the gala event on the second evening. This is a very special location for railway experts. Dinner will be served directly next to such precious exhibits like the court saloon carriage of Empress Elisabeth, which is more than 150 years old.
Furthermore, the technical site visits include the possibility to gain insights into historical and modern aspects of railway transport systems and components.
Participants of the WDF 2015 can choose to attend a technical visit of the Vienna Climate Wind Tunnel of Rail Tec Arsenal, to travel to the Remise Transport Museum by an old-timer tram or to take a deeper look into the new Vienna Central Station including a sightseeing tour of Vienna.
