US-based transportation services provider Norfolk Southern Corporation has secured $600m through a public offering of senior notes.
Issued at 99.806% of the principal amount, the notes will yield an annual interest rate of 5.1% until they mature in August 2118.
Canadian National Railway Company (CN) intends to raise C$450m ($343.20m) through a public offering of notes due 2048.
CN has also revealed plans to raise C$350m ($266.93m) through a public offering of notes due 2028.
The proceeds from the issues are intended to be used to fund general corporate purposes.
French railway company SNCF has awarded a $303m contract to Bombardier Transportation for the delivery of 36 Francilien trains to Greater Paris public transport authority, Île-de-France Mobilités.

By GlobalDataBombardier will be responsible for the supply of 18 short trains with a total of 126 rail cars and 18 long trains with 144 cars, under the agreement.
The short trains will be deployed on the L and J lines, while the long trains will operate on line P.
The latest order forms part of an earlier contract signed in 2006 for the supply of 372 trains.
Bombardier has secured an S$1.2bn ($880m) contract from Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore for the delivery of 66 new six-car trains.
The trains will be manufactured and assembled at the Bombardier’s manufacturing facility in China, and deployed on the North-South and East-West Lines (NSEWL).
The rolling stock will integrate new predictive maintenance features and advanced design techniques to enhance the operations on the NSEWL.
The contract includes an option to offer service support for the new train fleet for their design life of 30 years.
SNCF Mobilités has awarded a contract to Alstom for the supply of 100 next–generation Avelia Horizon trains.
The €2.7bn ($3.14bn) contract has been approved by the SNCF’s board of directors.
Jointly developed by Alstom and SNCF, the new high-speed trains are designed to reduce energy consumption by 20% and increase passenger capacity by 20%.
