LTG Infra has launched a tender for the oversight of construction works across the Neris river for the longest railway bridge in the Baltic nations.
The company has undertaken the responsibility to execute the Rail Baltica project in Lithuania.
In the competition, a firm will be picked out to carry out technical oversight of the construction works along with the engineering services.
LTG Infra CEO Karolis Sankovski said: “This will be an exceptional project not just for Lithuania, but the entire region. This is another opportunity to participate in the project by offering oversight for the construction works of the longest railway bridge in the Baltic States, and will not arrive any time soon. As such, we invite all companies, which are able to offer the services outlined in the tender, to participate.”
The tender will be held in two stages.
The evaluation of tender participants’ compliance with technical requirements will take place in the first stage; whereas, in the second stage, the best offer will be picked.

By GlobalDataBased on the FIDIC Red Book, which is the most frequently used model for both the private and public sectors in Lithuania, the services of both contracting work and engineering will be bought.
Under this model, the work oversight engineer will measure and assess the extent of work completed by the contractor and payment is then made by the client for just the completed work.
This saves the client from potential overpayments for works that have not been completed.
The new railway bridge, which will be the longest railway bridge in the Baltic States, will rise up near Jonava.
Overall, the new bridge will be 1,510m-long, with the longest span on the bridge between supports, as it crosses the waters, touching 150m.
As of now, Lyduvėnai railway bridge is Lithuania’s longest bridge, spanning 599m. It lies across the river Dubysa near Lyduvėnai. The longest bridge for vehicular traffic, which is 494m long, goes over the Nemunas river near Jurbarkas.
In December 2020, LTG Infra launched Rail Baltica project’s second round of a tender seeking a contractor to help it construct this railway bridge.
