French train manufacturer Alstom has delivered its first Régiolis next-generation regional train to the Pays de la Loire region, France.
This delivery is part of an order for 20 Régiolis trains awarded by Pays de la Loire region. It includes ten dual-mode motors trains and ten diesel units.
The 72m-long trains with four carriages will be able to accommodate 218 people and two of its carriages will have automatic passengercounting systems.
The first train is expected to be operational in January 2015.
Part of Alstom’s coradia range of trains, Régiolis come in three lengths; 56m, 72m and 110m, and offers four levels of comfort to suit the distances covered.
The French regions have ordered a total of 184 Régiolis trains and 34 Coradia Liner trains so far from Alstom.

By GlobalDataThe first train started service in April and Alstom will deliver 50 trains to the regions of Alsace, Aquitaine, Basse Normandie, Lorraine, Midi-Pyrénées, Pays de la Loire, Picardie, Poitou-Charentes and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur by the end of this year.
