Alstom has secured a contract worth approximately €50m for the supply of ten Coradia Lint regional trains to German company HzL Hohenzollerische Landesbahn.
The diesel multiple units are set to be developed at Alstom’s Salzgitter plant and will operate on the RE Ulm-Aalen, RB Ulm-Langenau and RB Ulm-Munderkingen lines.
Alstom sales director in Germany and Austria Jochen Slabon said: “With this contract Alstom’s Coradia Lint will for the first time serve in the Baden-Württemberg region.
“Alstom’s well-proven regional trains will be a real enrichment for the region and bring passenger comfort to a new level.”
The company is scheduled to deliver the trains by May 2019.
HzL chief technology officer Tobias Harms said: “The Lint from Alstom is an absolutely new feature in our train fleet. We are very excited about the new trains and are happy to be able to offer our future passengers a high comfort.”

By GlobalDataAlstom's low-consumption, two-car Coradia Lint 54 units can reach a maximum operating speed of 140 km/h with high acceleration rate.
The trains have an access height of 628mm with a total seat capacity of 150 passengers and 18 bike stances. Every fixed seat features a spacious layout and is equipped with a table for laptops.
They also feature Wi-Fi, as well as entertainment and passenger information systems with monitors and video surveillance devices.
Alstom’s Coradia Lint trains have operated on more than 30 networks across Europe and Canada since 2000.
The company has sold over 2,200 Coradia trains to date, including nearly 1,900 that are currently operating in Canada, as well as various European countries such as Denmark, France, Germany, and Italy.
