Alstom has received a contract worth $44m for the supply of traction systems for Line 3 of the Chengdu Metro in China.
As part of the contract, traction systems will be provided for 288 metro cars on the 50km line, which is intended to connect Chengdu’s suburbs to the city centre.
The first phase of Line 3 is expected to be in operation by next month.
HSH Nordbank has provided a $161.7m loan to Akiem, a French company engaged in the rental of locomotives.
The loan is a part of a $970.24m refinancing of the company’s existing loans and for its business growth.
UGL has been selected to supply and maintain locomotives for Pacific National.

Rhaetian Railway has awarded a $292m contract to Stadler for the supply of electric multiple units (EMU).
As part of the contract, Stadler will provide 27 self-powered 76.44m four-car EMUs, with the first scheduled to be delivered in 2019.
The contract also includes an option for a further 20 EMUs.
