CRRC Nanjing Puzhen Rail Transport (NPRT) has been awarded four contracts for the supply of metro trains and trams in China.
With a total value of CNY3.3bn ($501m), the deal includes four contracts worth CNY1.88bn ($284m), CNY640m ($96m), CNY630m ($94m), and CNY150m ($22m), individually.
The first contract will deliver low-floor light-rail vehicles (LRV) for the Suzhou Rail Transit Line 3 project between 2018 and 2019, while the second was awarded by Hangzhou Metro Group and is for supply of trains for the 12.8km Hangzhou Metro Line 2 Phase 2 between 2016 and 2017.
The third by Honghe Prefecture Modern is for the supply of LRVs for Diannan Centre City Tramway Project between 2016 and 2017 and the fourth is for Suzhou National New and Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone Tramline-1 extension.
EDI Rail Bombardier Transportation has secured a A$511m ($384m) contract to supply another ten B-Series, three-car electric multiple unit (EMU) trains by Western Australia’s Public Transport Authority (PTA).
The new EMUs will be manufactured at EDI’s Downer’s facility in Maryborough, Queensland. It will support the Forrestfield Airport line extension, which is due to open in 2020.
