Rolling stock leasing company Eversholt Rail has appointed Knorr-Bremse Rail Services(KBRS) to refurbish 22 Class-320 trains operated by ScotRail.
The contractual scope includes complete interior revamp of the trains, including repainting of all surfaces, new flooring, tables and new seats, as well as fitting at-seat power sockets and LED lighting. KBRS is also responsible for improved CCTV systems, as well as new interior labelling and signage.
The refurbishment will be performed at KBRS’s Springburn Depot in Glasgow, starting in October and running until early 2019.
CH2M and Hill International have been appointed as programme and construction management consultants for Valley Metro Rail’s future transit projects in the US.
The five-year contract makes Hill International the principal sub-consultant, which will work with Valley Metro Rail and the other partner to develop transportation in the region.
Services provided by the companies under the contract cover cost and schedule control, monitoring and reporting on project progress, change and risk management, design management, constructability reviews, cost estimation, value engineering, as well as procurement assistance.

A contract to design and build the Naples-Cancello section of a high-speed rail line, which is part of the Naples-Bari high-speed line development in Italy, has been secured by a consortium of Salini Impregilo (60%) and Astaldi (40%).
The €397m ($419.4m) contract includes construction of three stations and developing a 15.5km rail line passing through the areas of Casoria, Casalnuovo, Afragola, Caivano and Acerra.
Scheduled for completion by 2022 the high-speed line will improve rail access to Naples.
