Class DP-M DMU

OAO Metrovagonmash (MVM) has signed a contract with OJSC Central Suburban Passenger Company (CSPC) to supply new Class DP-M diesel multiple units (DMUs) with a power pack.

As part of the deal, the new DMUs will be delivered to CSPC by 15 February.

Following its introduction into service, MVM will undertake the scheduled maintenance on the DMUs for 30 years.

Part of JSC Transmashholding, the company noted that the DP-M train constitutes an entirely new class of rolling stock in Russia’s transport engineering industry.

For the first time in Russia, the power pack is installed in a separate, dedicated traction-module with a pass-through designed and manufactured by Swiss train manufacturer Stadler.

According to MVM, DP-M offers improved passenger safety and comfort, while the traction motors installed in a separate traction module reduce significantly vibration and noise impact in the train saloon.
