Connectivity solutions provider Nomad Digital has partnered with Swiss-based train manufacturer Stadler to provide WiFi for 36 new Arriva Flirt trains in the Netherlands.
Stadler will deliver the new trains to Arriva, which will manage services in the Limburg area.
Nomad Digital EMEAI general manager Jean-Philippe Tissot said: “This new deployment further builds on Nomad’s strong market presence in the Netherlands, which includes a dedicated customer management and field-based team, providing a solid foundation on which to further develop our partnership with both Arriva and Stadler in the Netherlands.”
Nomad serves as a primary supplier of WiFi connectivity solutions on Arriva’s Netherlands fleet of 101 trains. The new trains developed by Stadler will feature Nomad’s open connectivity infrastructure built into them.
Nomad said that the new deployment helps it to strengthen its position in the Netherlands market. This is also the first deployment of Nomad's next-generation R4551 platform in the Netherlands.
Nomad’s latest compact WiFi router architecture offers a platform that comes with newest technologies such as integrated next-generation modems and access points, enabling quick integration of additional operational applications.
