Wireless solutions provider Nomad Digital has secured an order from Bombardier to deliver onboard connectivity solution for 100 trains in the north European metro system.
For this project, Nomad will deliver its new CCU R 4551 as the onboard communication system to route data from TCMS, CCTV and PIS applications through the trackside Wi-Fi network.
Nomad’s solution will enable the Bombardier trains to have a highly secure, advanced and functionally accomplished on-board communication system, the company said.
Nomad Digital EMEAI general manager Jean-Philippe Tissot said: "Nomad’s industry leadership and reputation as a global rail industry specialist has enabled it to increase its global footprint through multi-faceted channels, whether it be train builders, fleet operators or long-standing partnerships.
"As another great example of the deployment of Nomad’s expert solutions in new markets, Nomad will deliver an innovative and secure communications platform that will undoubtedly enhance the way that the metro operator manages and utilises its onboard applications."
In September last year, Bombardier selected Nomad Digital to deploy a full end-to-end passenger Wi-Fi service on Australia’s Queensland Rail trains.
