China’s Shanghai Railway Bureau has installed Wi-Fi across eight railway stations throughout the city with the support of Wi-Fi technology provider Ruckus Wireless.
With a total coverage area of 400,000m², this new development will benefit more than 110,000 registered users of the Railway’s new i-station information system.
The Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi infrastructure will help passengers to get up-to-date, real-time train schedules of Shanghai railway stations and additional useful train information.
Beijing Jianfei Science Company system architect Wang Bo said: "We really needed the kind of reliable, high-performance wireless network infrastructure that Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi provides.
"Not only to provide passengers with convenient internet access station-wide, it also empowers them to travel more confidently, since they can now more easily keep up-to-date on changing train status using their mobile devices from anywhere in the station."
Jianfei Science Company was responsible for the installation of Ruckus Smart Wi-Fi network for the Shanghai Railway Bureau.
