Siemens has received the second order from Sweden-based rail transport firm Hector Rail for supply of 15 Vectron alternating-current (AC) locomotives.
Equipped with the European train control system (ETCS) and the ATC2-STM train control system, the locomotives will have a maximum output of 6,400kW and a top speed of 200km/h.

The locomotives include a diesel power module and radio remote control on-board to bridge short stretches without overhead power lines.
With delivery scheduled to begin next year, the locomotives will be used for heavy freight and timber transport in Sweden and Norway.
The first order was placed by Hector Rail for five Vectron locomotives in July last year.
With 75 locomotives, Hector Rail's fleet covers a total of more than seven million train kilometres a year.
