Swiss company Stadler Bussnang has selected Mitron’s passenger information system for 26 of its trains.
Under the agreement, Finland-based Mitron will deliver its passenger information, display, intercommunication, CCTV, and advertisement system to Stadler Bussnang.
Stadler will then provide these fast, light, innovative regional trains (FLIRT) to Norwegian State Railways (NSB).
Mitron’s passenger information system also includes internal and external thin-film-transistor (TFT) and LED displays. Passengers will receive route information and video content with the help of these displays.
Earlier, both companies signed agreements with regards to several rail vehicle construction projects. The latest deliveries are planned to take place in 2016-2018.
Mitron’s CEO Lasse Orre said: "We are delighted that Stadler Bussnang has once again trusted us and our turnkey solution when providing NSB and rail passengers in Norway with passenger information and entertainment system that meets today’s demands for high-service reliability and quality as well as accurate, timely, and clearly displayed information."
