Finnish technology company Teleste's subsidiary Teleste Information Solutions has signed a frame agreement to deliver TFT-LCD displays for German railway company Deutsche Bahn's trains and stations between 2017 and 2019.
The displays will form a part of Deutsche Bahn’s Colibri portfolio, which is set to include basic products, applications and maintenance solutions to provide better service to the passengers.
Teleste Video Security and Information Solutions senior vice-president Esa Harju said: “Within the fast developing public transportation sector, modular and highly flexible solutions are needed to improve the passenger experience across the entire travel chain.
“We are pleased to continue our long-term cooperation with Deutsche Bahn as a vendor of onboard and station displays for their innovative portfolio.”
Teleste’s Mitron TFT-LCD displays provide customers with round-the-clock travel information along with other passenger services, both onboard and around the station areas.
The company noted that they also offer operational reliability even in demanding situations.

By GlobalDataThe displays are equipped with an inbuilt diagnostic feature that helps operators to quickly identify and fix any source of service disruption.
Mitron's LCD display units exhibit bright colours and offer better visibility at large viewing angles, which can be used in different applications such as route and timetable announcements, guiding passengers at stations and platforms and indicating less crowded rail cars to customers entering the trains.
Some of the Deutsche Bahn displays will also be touch-screen enabled to provide users with faster access to the necessary information.
