International Competence Centre Rail (CC-Rail) provides International Railway Industry Standard (IRIS) training and consulting services for large, small and medium-sized businesses.
Consulting services for rail industry enterprises and maintenance workshops, including rail operators
CC-Rail’s consulting services aim to sustainably improve rail industry operations, as well as increase profit margins through risk management and root cause analysis. IRIS certification will be efficiently achieved with minimum internal effort and maximum success.
Risk analysis helps companies to identify the amount by which profit margins could feasibly be cut, as well as the areas in which it can be mitigated and subsequent costs.
CC-Rail also attempts to find the cause of quality deficiency costs in companies, thereby highlighting the resulting risks and prevention methods.
Consultation assists companies to set realistic objectives, correctly measure progress, detect weaknesses and how to permanently eliminate root causes.
CC-Rail’s services provide solutions to seamlessly fit into existing company processes, and can potentially lead to a profit margin increase between 5% and 10%.
Basic course for IRIS auditors
CC-Rail’s Internal IRIS auditor course is essential for achieving IRIS Certification on a short track, and is available for a wide range of rail industry managers, including quality and design engineers, buyers or project leaders
The course trains students in process-oriented auditing, the IRIS assessment methodology, IRIS preparation, implementation and audit tools.
It prepares clients to fully understand and meet the requirements of the IRIS standard, or improve a client’s internal auditing process.
Training concludes with a written and oral examination and an internationally recognised certificate that is valid for three years. Courses also feature practical exercises designed to improve an auditor’s code of practise.
Advanced course for IRIS auditors
The advanced IRIS auditor course allows participants to refresh their IRIS knowledge, to renew their certificates and to improve IRIS business management systems for the railway industry and operators.
This is aimed at internal IRIS auditors who have already passed their basic training, which should help them to achieve an ‘Optimised-level’ qualification in their next IRIS certification audit.
Reliability, availability, maintainability and lifecycle cost courses
The RAM / LCC course familiarises participants with reliability, availability, maintainability and lifecycle costs (RAM / LLC) requirements of IEC 62 278 (EN 50126).
Following the course, participants will be better placed to introduce their own RAM / LCC processes and data analysis under guidance in a first project.
The course is aimed at RAM / LCC engineers in the design, maintenance, project management, quality management, marketing and sales functions.
The training concludes with a written and oral examination and a certificate.
IRIS project management for the rail industry
CC-Rail’s project management courses provide a variety of key skills to participants, including initiating, planning, and carrying out projects, and optimising efficiently using scarce resources.
The four-day course is designed for project managers and project team members, such as project buyers, controllers, and quality assurance staff.
The course ends with a written examination and a certificate. After the training, participants are prepared for the internationally recognised iapm-Certification.
Risk and opportunity manager course
The ISO 9001: 2015 and IRIS standards feature more demanding risk and opportunity requirements. CC-Rail’s practical course provides comprehensive information regarding the basic processes and tools of a risk manager.
The training will show how to identify and assess risks to business, projects, products and processes, as well as how to document and develop a risk management framework.
