Since being acquired by the Rhomberg Group in 2005, Track Australia has developed at an extraordinary pace in response to both a dynamic management approach and a burgeoning Australian rail market. Australia has been fortunate to weather the global financial crisis through the continued development of its natural mineral resource reserves feeding the ever expanding Asian and in particular, Chinese markets.

From a base of only 12 employees, the company now has 110 highly skilled and dedicated rail professionals.

Expansion of the companies product offering from a continuing base as the market leader in track resurfacing to now include extensive track construction and rail structures delivery capabilities.

Recently Track Australia has acquired a dynamic, industry leading track design team completing our ability to offer complex rail solutions from concept to completion and maintenance. Investments in new, leading-edge technology and high performance rail track plant and equipment including a new Plasser SSP303 ballast regulator which is the largest regulator operating in the Southern Hemisphere.

Opening a new expanded head office in Sydney and a fully staffed branch office in the Hunter Valley of New South Wales to better service the highest volume rail line in the country.

Developed its role as a reliable project partner and delivered cost-effective solutions in many major projects including the Epping to Chatswood remediation works, Fortescue Metals Group Rail Line completion, Hunter Valley Network extension and maintenance, ARTC Interstate Freight Lines upgrade and RailCorp MPM and resurfacing works.

The rebranding of Track Australia to Rhomberg Rail Australia is a natural step in the path to providing Australia with the proven sophisticated rail technology solutions from the Rhomberg Group combined with highly capable local knowledge and capabilities in the unique Australian rail environment. Already there has been extensive cooperation between the European operations and Australia with the sharing of staff resources. This provides not only ‘hybrid vigour’ for the groups rail operations but gives staff the opportunity to develop a wider skill set in the rail industry which is increasingly becoming a globalised business.
