Leading steel pipe and railway wheel company Interpipe presented its KLW wheel products at the 9th International Heavy Haul Conference and Exhibition for Modern Railways 2009, which was held from 22 – 25 June 2009 in Shanghai, China. Interpipe delivered a technical report to conference delegates entitled: “Influence of non-metallic inclusions on micro cracks formation in steel and railway wheels.”

Galina Klevanskaya, speaker from Interpipe, noted in her report: “Non-metallic inclusions are a key factor in the formation of micro cracks in wheel steel and railway wheels. Therefore learning about this issue is a very important element of increasing a wheel’s operational characteristics. Quality is still Interpipe’s top priority, demonstrated by successfully passing a certification processes in strategic markets.”

During the exhibition Interpipe presented technical characteristics not only of its railway wheels but also wheels for freight, passenger cars and mass transportation cars.

The conference and exhibition included both local and international advanced technologies and equipment in the fields of heavy haul, high speed travel, operations management, locomotives and rolling stock, communications and signaling, and running safety.
