The CompactPCI Serial interface card G229 combines the legacy interfaces RS232 and RS422 / 485 with state-of-the-art slots for USB 3.0 and m.2. Using a PCIe Mini Card it can also serve as a graphic board within a CompactPCI Serial system.
The interface board G229 supports up to three USB 3.0 ports, one RS232 and one RS422/485 interface and a m.2 interface. This way, it can be used to complete the number of legacy interfaces as well as for connection of state-of-the-art high-speed interconnects within a system.
For data storage or as a boot medium, the G229 enables a fast boot of the system’s CPU via the m.2 slot, which supports NVMe and PCIe connection.
Via a PCIe Mini Card, it can additionally function as a flexible graphic extension to support CPU boards, which do not have graphic functionality already integrated. One example for such a board is the new G25A from MEN; a multicore platform for virtualisation of network and storage applications.
Thanks to the low-power architecture, the extended temperature range of -40°C to 70°C and the EN 50155 conformity, the G229 can be used in both industrial and demanding transportation applications.
