March 15th, 2004. After two years of evaluation, TagMaster received its first major train order in P R China. TagMaster and Richor Communication Co. Ltd in Shanghai, the TagMaster General Distributor, has together with a local systems integrator successfully carried out the project. Deliveries of the order, a total of 980 reader units and the single largest reader volume in one order, will begin in May 2004 and carry on until December 2005. The order value is expected to increase due to addition of the required tag population when the project is deployed.
The idea of the project has been approved by the Chinese Railway Bureaus on both regional and central levels. The order represents a first phase of what can be an expansion into other regions in P R China as the planned implementation will represent an example for the Chinese market.
“TagMaster has, throughout these tests, shown its dedication and patience whilst contributing to resolving outstanding issues through further products modifications and high quality standards in product deliveries,” claims Qian Xiang, President of Richor Communications, responsible for project management and customer relations.
“With this frame order we have proved our competitive strength in a market where evaluations and verification is nothing but extensive, professional and most demanding for all parties involved,” says Magnus Rehn, President of TagMaster AB. “We have participated in these tests since 2002 and with the product program specifically developed for the tough conditions within the railway market all specifications could be met and full functionality delivered,” continues Magnus Rehn.
