Televic Rail has been selected by Siemens AG to supply Passenger Information Systems for Thameslink commuter trains that will operate in the UK.
Based on Televic’s latest iCoM technologies, the system will show innovative TSI-PRM compliant passenger information on TFT screens, combined with video entertainment, alongside traditional audio announcement, passenger alarm and intercom systems and messages on LED displays.
In addition, the system will also feature the off-board LiveCom tool which allows for the organisation and operation of passenger information- and infotainment-related matters offering total flexibility in terms of content and route management.
The contract award covers the design of the systems, the delivery of all equipment, and subsequent long-term maintenance support directly in the local depots of Three Bridges and Hornsey.
This new award clearly confirms the suitability of iCoM, Televic’s integrated Information and Communication Management concept, as a response to public transport operators’ needs for an integrated system encompassing:
- The requirements related to routes and timetable management
- Content and digital signage creation, together with
- The management and supervision of multiple fleets of vehicles, each with their own passenger information specificities
Besides serving +/- 22.000 rail cars worldwide, Televic Rail is continuously investing in innovative research projects with universities and research institutes in order to offer the most advanced solutions in Passenger Information Systems.
