Following the launch of RADOX RAILCAT CAT7 cable last year, HUBER+SUHNER is now launching a matching, pre-assembled connectivity solution with an M12 connector. One major challenge in railway vehicles is to reliably distribute the increasing volumes of data. The right choice of connectivity components is decisive for building secure and powerful Ethernet networks.
HUBER+SUHNER offers a new pre-assembled connectivity solution for the reliable connection of all systems and devices on railway vehicles, for example, cameras or servers. The RADOX RAILCAT CAT7 cable is supplied with an M12 connector. This preconfigured plug-and-play solution enables quick and easy installation in railway vehicles. The M12 connector is available in two versions: overmoulded, pre-assembled, or optimised for easy installation in the field.
The assembly is based on the new RADOX RAILCAT CAT7, a databus cable for Ethernet network connections of up to 10 gigabits. The four-pair cable is available as 4x2x24 AWG and supports easy routing thanks to its reduced dimensions. Like most HUBER+SUHNER products, RADOX RAILCAT CAT7 also features electron-beam cross-linked insulation material, the proven RADOX EM 104. This makes the entire assembly particularly resistant to heat, cold, media and weather.
The new assembly was specifically developed for the railway market. It meets the demanding environmental requirements and fire protection requirements.
