Dozens of stations including Bletchley, Leighton Buzzard, Northampton, Tamworth and Wolverton have been supplied with new customer information display equipment by Ashby-based display technology and communication company Infotec.
Part of a massive project to regenerate London Midland stations, the contract was awarded to Infotec by security and communications product specialist Fone-Alarm Installations. London-Midland is investing £11.5m in improving its stations. Work is taking place on extending car parks, increasing security, keeping them cleaner and tidier and improving electronic information boards.
Single and double-sided platform next train indicators with clocks, summary departure boards and 17in, 19in and 32in LED displays have all been supplied by Infotec as part of the Fone-Alarm order.
Site surveys to determine what bracketry was required, project management and a one-day technical training course in display maintenance have also been provided by Infotec.
As with all Infotec displays, those provided have been delivered with guarantees – a one-year return to factory for the large format TFTs, a two-year return to factory for LCD, small format TFT and the communication hubs and a five-year return to factory for the LED displays.
