Over the past six years, Linsinger has been working with Crossrail, Rail London, and Network Rail to deliver a new generation of rail milling machines.
The SF06Uk Duplex machine is under construction in Austria. The Crossrail machine will maintain the track in the new underground railway within tight tolerances, as determined by the management team in order to optimise the wheel-rail interface, keep noise and vibration to a minimum, as well as optimise traction and breaking conditions, and running surface.
Crossrail operating conditions are so rigorous that there is little track access time for repair and renewal, while service disruption and lost time delay must be kept to a minimum. With steep gradients and tight curves, the Crossrail route is demanding. Only the Linsinger machine is purpose-built to meet these demands.
