OMK will be supplying more than 1,500 Flite seats for the £1bn Manchester Airport Transformation Programme (MAN-TP).
Flite is designed to offer a 10% increase in seating capacity over other seating systems. Manufactured in durable moulded polyurethane, it carries a 25-year guarantee, making it the perfect match for the project, which aims to increase the airport’s passenger capacity from 20 million passengers to 30 million passengers a year by 2025.
Matt Osborne, managing director of OMK, commented: “We have a long-standing relationship with MAG originally supplying them with seating from our Trax system over 25 years ago.
“Our products are developed to meet the changing requirements of today’s airports and we are very happy that the advantages of Flite have been recognised by the project team.”
One of the busiest airports in the UK, with approximately 70 airlines operating yearly, Manchester Airport serves 210 short and long-haul destinations.
MAN-TP represents the most significant programme of investment ever made by Manchester Airport Group (MAG), aiming at developing the airport to offer better customer experience by significantly enhancing current facilities.
