As from 1st October 2014, Peter Bay, the founder and manager of Advanced Sensors Calibration (ASC), is no longer a managing director of the company.

Bay founded ASC in 2006 and developed it to a leading manufacturer of acceleration and angular rate sensors and IMUs (inertial measurement units). The sole manager with immediate effect is Renate Bay, who has been responsible for the areas of management accounting, marketing and business organisation since 2011. In future, Peter Bay will be available to the company as a technical consultant and as the head of the calibration laboratory.

Peter Bay has worked in the area of measuring technology since the early 1980s, and his role in the top management of ASC mainly included responsibility for the areas of technology, production and sales. As a qualified mechanical engineering technician and industrial business manager, he gained wide-ranging experience in sensor and vibration measurement systems as a sales engineer and sales manager for various companies before he took the post of managing director of MWS Sensorik in 1999.

After the development of and the sale to Measurement Specialties, a US supplier of sensors and sensor-based products, Peter Bay then founded Advanced Sensors Calibration in Ingolstadt in 2006. In 2010, the company then moved to Pfaffenhofen near Munich. Within just a few years, he succeeded in making ASC one of the leading suppliers of acceleration and angular rate sensors and IMUs. As from 1 October 2014, he withdrew from day-to-day business operations.

"But he will continue to work with us as a technical consultant and the head of our calibration laboratory, so our customers and partners will still be able to benefit from his long-standing experience and his technical expertise in the future."

The company is still growing, and in the course of the next year it will especially extend its portfolio in the IMU segment. In this connection, ASC will also strengthen its personnel. From 1st January 2015, for example, an additional experienced sales engineer from the sensor industry will supplement the ASC team, and during the first quarter of 2015, ASC will also appoint an extra product manager. In this way, the company guarantees that its customers will continue to receive the same level of service and customised product solutions in the future.
