Elektrotechniek Belgium was held for the first time in 2010. This exhibition is actually a spin-off of the highly reputed exhibition Elektrotechniek, held every second year over many years at Jaarbeurs Utrecht, the Netherlands.
The exhibition in Belgium took place on 17-19 November and was held at Tours & Taxis in Brussels. Although the exhibition has started off on a small scale, it is of a high-quality level. This can be seen from the excellent stands displayed at the exhibition and the professional nature of the visitors.
“We can look back at a successful participation in this new exhibition,” says Arwout Verwoerd, sales representative at Theunissen Technical Trading BV (TTT), which sells MCT Brattberg cable transit products. “Although the total number of visitors was still quite a lot lower than at the original Elektrotechniek in Utrecht, the visitors attending the exhibition were really interested in the products and technologies offered,” he continues.
His colleague Barry Hoefnagels, also a sales representative, adds: “During this exhibition, we had a continuous flow of visitors from a variety of sectors. Their background ranged from the building industry to industrial site managers, infrastructural supervisors, energy professionals and architects. We spoke to several different representatives from building consultancy companies who were attending the exhibition mainly to become inspired, both by new products and innovative technologies.”
A second edition of the Elektrotechniek Belgium exhibition is scheduled for 2012.
“Then it will alternate nicely with the Dutch Elektrotechniek exhibition, held in Utrecht, which is normally organised in uneven years,” concludes Barry Hoefnagels.
