To cope with a growing order book for its services, we have increased our transport fleet by investing in an additional Iveco seven-and-a-half tonne, curtain-sided truck and have plans to purchase more vehicles in the future.

The new 75e16 truck delivers on two fronts for the Leeds-based business. It is more fuel efficient and produces fewer emissions than the rest of Pickersgills’ existing truck fleet therefore reduces the company’s carbon footprint, while the extra tonnage will provide greater flexibility to manage workloads and maintain production and delivery schedules.

The investment in the transport fleet is part of a structured programme of process and equipment improvements, and comes at an ideal time, allowing the company to offer improved customer service to complement the high quality standards and fast turnaround times for which it is renowned.

Pickersgills’ general manager, Paul Bertie, said: "With our order books filling up, the new truck is part of a programme of improvements we have undertaken to ensure we have the resources and flexibility to take advantage of any opportunities. We are always looking to better our services and we now have the capability to deliver additional work."
