In the wake of Mr Cooper’s decision to step down as chairman, the Group has also taken the opportunity to strengthen the depth of experience on the board by making other top-level changes.

Paul Bertie is named new managing director of Pickersgill Electroplating, while Simon Barnes and Harry Griffiths will now serve as manufacturing director and sales director respectively at Pickersgill-Kaye, which designs and produces high-quality locks and safety products for the security, custodial and rail industries. Mr Murphy retains his position as managing director of this part of the Group.

Gerry Murphy is responsible for engineering, technical purchasing and product support, while Dwiriana Setiati will be in charge of the whole Group’s services area including health and safety, quality, centralised purchasing and accounting and welfare activities.

To complete the reshuffle, Simon Barnes is named as Pickersgill-Kaye’s manufacturing director with responsibilities for manufacturing, maintenance, factory service and production planning.

Meanwhile, as part of continued investment in its product portfolio, Pickersgill-Kaye, is launching a new marketing campaign targeting high-security applications with its Kaye-Rota padlock, which comes in nine model variants and different shackle sizes, fully enclosed, semi-enclosed and open shackle. Pickersgill-Kaye’s padlock is designed for protecting national critical infrastructure sites by central government, the MoD, major utility companies and other high-security locations. It encompasses a unique design featuring a rotating sleeve which resists physical attack, including attempts at twisting the body of the padlock with a wrench or similar tool.

The Kaye-Rota padlock has the ability to accept a wide range of cylinders, 12mm dia case hardened boron steel shackle and stainless-steel body, while for additional security the key can only be removed in the locked position. It is also approved for use on equipment with specific security products up to LPCB LPS 1175 grade 4.

All Pickersgill-Kaye products are designed on state-of-the-art CAD software and are subjected to extensive and challenging testing on key operation, lock construction and overall durability and resistance to attack, in order to satisfy the operational requirements of national and international market sectors.
