Pickersgill-Kaye locks are key to new cells at Pudsey police station

Pickersgill-Kaye Ltd has played a major manufacturing role in the new multi-million pound state-of-the-art custody suite that has helped transform Pudsey Police Station into one of the most modern and secure in West Yorkshire.

Pudsey’s new 22 cells that make up the purpose-built complex have all been supplied with Pickersgill-Kaye’s robust 8-lever Kaye Class 1 Custodial Cell Lock, a lock developed by the Leeds-based cell lock manufacturer in response to a growing demand for more choice and innovation in the custodial sector.

In addition to manufacturing the cell and pass locks for Pudsey, Pickersgill-Kaye also supplied its custodial inspection hatches for the cell doors as part of the £2.5m project.

Powder coatings are just what the doctor ordered

Pickersgills Electroplating is playing its part in helping to save lives by supplying its powder coating expertise to an award-winning UK medical technology company that’s products are used in hospital operating theatres throughout the world.

Brandon Medical Company Ltd, which won the Queens Award for Enterprise in the innovation category in 2011, is a leading supplier of operating theatre lights and has experience of the quality of service offered by Pickersgills.

However, it was Pickersgills’ expertise in powder painting that won the contract to help bring to market Brandon Medical’s latest high-quality product the Quasar HD-LED operating theatre light, though there are also environmental benefits from the two Leeds-based companies collaborating, in the shape of reduced product miles.

The fast turnaround times, for which the business is renowned in the industry, and the high quality of the finished product that results in continuing business for Pickersgills from companies, such as Brandon Medical, whose powder-coated lighting has been employed in some of the world’s most renowned hospitals.
