SPINNER is one of the leading high-quality rail frequency (RF) component and systems manufacturers in the world. For more than 65 years we have been supplying our customers with innovative products and customer-specific solutions for a broad range of applications.
Rail frequency components
Increasing cross-border railway traffic requires a uniform system for mobile voice and data communication. Since safety-relevant signals and operating information have to be transmitted to the driver’s cab, there are especially high demands when it comes to the quality of the components that are used. During the transition phase from analogue service to the GSM-R network, interference-free parallel operation must be ensured.
GSM-R was developed as a digital communication platform for modern rail traffic. It is based on the GSM standard, which is used worldwide in mobile telecommunication, with extended train-specific services such as switch tower communication, train trail surveillance and train safety.
The frequencies, which have been harmonised internationally, are exclusively reserved for rail companies. The network infrastructure is mainly in line with the structure of existing GSM mobile communication networks.
Components for railway traction equipment
SPINNER, a world leader in the manufacture of high-quality RF components, delivers all products needed between the transceiver unit and the antenna, for setting up the infrastructure and equipping mobile systems.
Our products are approved internationally at all the major system houses and network providers, and released by the Federal Rail Office Eisenbahnbundesamt (EBA) and other railway authorities. Several thousand antenna systems for the network infrastructure and well over 10,000 railway traction vehicles have already been equipped with SPINNER components, such as:
- Cables
- Cable assemblies
- Connectors
- Diplexers (analogue / digital service)
- Band stop filters
SPINNER components for network infrastructure include:
- Feeder cables
- Installation accessories
- Connectors
- Jumper cables
- Splitters
- 3dB couplers
- Diplexers (analogue / digital service)
- DC break
- Loads
Passive RF components for base station and antenna
As an internationally approved vendor for leading systems houses and network operators, SPINNER supplies the complete range of passive RF components required between the base station and the antenna for all common communication networks worldwide.
Our innovative components and solutions for the multiple use of antenna systems for outdoor and indoor applications allow cost-efficient coverage with wireless communication networks even under the most difficult circumstances.
Mobile communication in public cellular networks
Demands are high – being reachable everywhere worldwide requires fast internet access even in rural areas, or smartphones with ever higher data rates. In the dynamic and highly competitive mobile communication market, which includes GSM, UMTS, WiMAX and LTE, the innovative SPINNER products help providers make new network capacity available reliably, at competitive prices.
Non-public trunked mobile wireless networks
TETRA mobile communication networks are built up nationwide as a uniform operating wireless network for public authorities and security organisations (police, fire brigades, first aid services, military). As internal local communication networks, TETRA systems are also used by private entities (industry, local public transport, airports).
Railway wireless networks
Increasing cross-border railway traffic requires a uniform system for mobile voice and data communication. Since safety-relevant signals and operating information have to be transmitted to the driver’s cab there are especially high demands on the quality of the components that are used. During the transition phase from analogue service to the GSM-R network, interference-free parallel operation has to be ensured.
Components and systems for indoor coverage in buildings, tunnels and mining
A broadband passive transmission system ensures easy, reliable and maintenance-free coverage of large buildings for all desired wireless communication networks. This avoids the expensive and unsightly installation of several antenna systems.
Tunnel radio systems support interruption-free mobile coverage when users pass through longer road or railway tunnels. As a co-ordination medium for relief services and an information medium for road users these systems make an important contribution to increased traffic safety, such as in the event of accidents or fires.
Wireless voice and data communication in mines supports the optimum control of work processes and is a key contribution to increase operational safety.
Quality management and environmental protection
Quality management and environmental protection means continuous improvement of all processes within the SPINNER organisation. Efficient processes are what guarantees our high product quality. The entire SPINNER group is DIN EN ISO 9001 certified. All products meet the RoHS 2002/95/EG guideline.
Environmental protection is an obligation and a challenge for us at the same time. The environmental management system according to DIN EN ISO 14001 has been introduced and documented in all production facilities. Any materials and production processes can only be used following a careful examination.
We rely on partnerships in our cooperation with environmentally-minded suppliers and use a future-oriented waste disposal system in line with WEEE guideline 2002/96/EG.
