Last year, Vy had chosen Transub’s bespoke solution and purchased two portable and state-of-the-art Nano Simulators. Particularly satisfied with the core features of R³ and flexibility of scenarios, they have now ordered 20 additional Nano Simulators and entrusted us with a simulator’s refurbishment.
Pedagogical and modern simulation solutions
At Transurb, we forge long-term business relationships with our clients and follow the entire life cycle of their projects, including the refurbishment. 10 years ago, we had delivered a Stadler Flirt to the former NSB and we have now been entrusted with its refurbishment. Our upgraded solution will allow VY to benefit from more freedom and interactivity during simulation sessions and will provide trainees with a complete and avant-gardist training.
Besides the refurbishment, Vy has ordered 20 Nano Simulators to meet its need for additional training. Trainees will be able to simulate their journey on 200km of real track, from Drammen to Eidsvoll, as well as 50km of generic tracks. Thanks to the latest CGI technology and readily customisable signalling, our pedagogical and modern simulation solution will provide drivers with a top notch and highly realistic training.
ERTMS implementation in Norway
Since Norwegian trains will soon be equipped with the ETCS onboard system, future drivers must be properly prepared for it. Vy therefore wants to familiarise its trainees with it and asked Transurb to upgrade its SIMFlirt with generic ERTMS training.
One does not change a winning partnership
We have had the pleasure to work with Vy for more than ten years and are excited to continue this fruitful collaboration.
This project also reinforces our position as a major player in the field of simulation dedicated to ERTMS Training, after projects in Morocco (ONCF), Finland (KRAO), Denmark (Alstom), France (Euro Cargo Rail), Hungary (MAV Start), Australia (TfNSW), Belgium (SNCB) and so on.
