EKE-Electronics Ltd will supply coach computer systems to new double-deck sleeping coaches manufactured by Transtech Oy for VR Finnish Railways. Transtech has won a contract for 20 double-deck sleeping coaches for deliveries in 2010 to 2011.

EKE-Electronics’ scope of supply includes coach computers, Trainnet data gateways and remote control systems that control subsystems and diagnose operative data in the coaches. The rack-based equipment will consist of Trainnet train bus modules for the train bus communication, high-performance PowerPC-based CPUs, a multitude of digital and analogue input and output modules and related software applications. The system is fully compliant with the existing VR Finnish Railways passenger fleet, as well as EN50155 standard for railway rolling stock.
