Televic Rail has been selected by Siemens to supply its complete passenger information system on board 60 new S200 light rail vehicles (LRVs), which will be operated by Calgary Transit, the public transit service in Calgary, Canada.

Based on Televic Rail’s iCoM technology, the system will consist of advanced passenger information solutions, including an onboard CCTV system and ultra-wide TFT screens that are designed to show infotainment, advertising and passenger information.

The system will also feature LiveCom, Televic’s offboard software tool for database management and content creation.

Finally, Televic’s iSync solution will provide an automatic Wi-Fi and 3G / 4G link between the vehicles and the wayside, allowing real-time transfer of data such as diagnostics, CCTV footage, as well as database and content updates.

This new contract confirms that Televic’s iCoM solution responds to the industry’s increasing need for integrated systems that encompass onboard passenger information, offboard content management and real-time fleet management.
