MEN has launched an extremely robust, easy to use, flexible and, above all, reliable panel PC to market.
The DC15 conforms to the UIC 612 standard and has a compact and IP65-protected housing available with either 32 keys or multi-touch, reliable electronics, even in the extended temperature range of -40 to 70°C (85°C) and, of course, certification according to the EN 50155 railway standard.
One step ahead when it comes to HMIs in trains
For demanding HMI applications in the railway sector, the panel PC DC15 is used, for example, for monitoring and displaying train functions, for speed optimisation or for fleet management.
Its compact housing (310 / 214 / 60) accommodates an impact-resistant 10.4in TFT LCD display with LED backlight and a resolution of 1,024 x 768 pixels, projected capacitive touch and 32 pushbuttons typical for railway applications.
The electronics inside are IP65 compliant, EN 50155 certified, and prepared for coating against dust and humidity. In addition, the integrated ultra wide-range power supply provides a voltage range of 14.4 to 154 VDC, with interruption class S2. The DC15 reliably operates in the extended temperature range of -40 to 70°C (85°C for 10 minutes in accordance with Tx), even without maintenance-prone cooling with fans.
As a standard, communication with the DC15 is based on a powerful energy-efficient AMD processor, 2x ethernet, 1x USB, 1x Audio, GPIO and a serial interface, all available via M12 connectors on the rear panel. In addition, there is a PCI Express Mini Card slot (alternatively M.2) and μSIM slots for wireless communication like GSM, UMTS, LTE and GPS.
The connection to the rail network is flexible, for example via a CAN or MVB (Multifunction Vehicle Bus) interface.
Space-saving, rugged and tailored to the market needs, the DC15 display computer is the perfect device for demanding web applications in harsh environments.
