Seventeen machines, new service offers and smart assistance systems – at this year’s iaf, Plasser & Theurer is entirely dedicated to innovation for you.
Ergonomic design as a basis for cost-efficient operation
One focus for the development of the new Plasser & Theurer machine image was on the ‘design to cost’ approach. The machines’ timeless appearance and their economic and ergonomic benefits were key factors.
E³ – forward thinking
With its E3 drive technology Plasser & Theurer introduces two revolutionary prototypes with very different specifications at iaf. The savings achieved are considerable: more than €100 per hour of operation.
Unimat 09-4×4/4S E3: The electrical power is supplied to the drive system almost without any losses. At the axles of the power bogies, electrical drive motors transfer the power onto the rail. For the electrical mode of operation our tamping unit has been electrified, without changing the key tamping parameters. All rotating movements are powered electrically. All linear movements, such as the activation of the squeeze cylinders, are hydraulic.
Maintaining the overhead line with battery power
The HTW 100 E³ makes use of the latest electrical battery drive technology on the work site. Its capacity is designed for two 6-hour shifts and can be extended by modules. A sophisticated thermal management, in combination with an outside air heat pump, provides for a consistent output, independent of the ambient temperature. The HTW 100 E³ performs its work emission-free and quietly, be it in tunnels or in crowded urban environments.
The global turnout expert
The Unimat 08-4×4/4S impresses with a new design. In its basic version the machine’s construction work is so compact that, thanks to a new technology, a complete control measurement of the track geometry as per EN standard is performed directly on the machine. Optional, often requested, extensions comprise a vast array of equipment with variable types of trailers at Plasser & Theurer.
The 16,000th machine
The Unimat Combi 08-275 for the Italian railway company RFI (Rete Ferroviaria Italiana) is a true multipurpose tool for spot fault repair. This machine also represents a special "milestone" for us: it is the 16,000th machine that has left our factory in Linz and demonstrates once again our productivity and high level of manufacturing quality. The machine will be officially handed over to RFI in Münster.
Using an app to find spare parts
In addition to the usual spare parts catalogues, the new Smart Catalog App provides a modern opportunity to quickly identify and order original Plasser & Theurer spare parts.
P&T Connected: Turning data into actions
The Plasser Datamatic remote diagnosis system supplies a multitude of machine data. P&T Connected analyses this data and creates the basis for optimal maintenance.
The exhibits and services mentioned are just a selection of our presence at the Münster iaf. Go and see for yourself what we have on offer. The press tour will take place on 31 May at 11:00. If you are interested, please contact Plasser & Theurer to register by 17 May.
