Tammermatic InterClean Group has sold two Rainbow Ultima train washes and their related water circulation and filtration systems to Storstockholms Lokaltrafik (SL). The train washes will be delivered in early 2010 to SL’s new service depot.

Rainbow Ultima train washes supplied by Tammermatic will wash the SL bus fleet serving the Great Stockholm area at a rate of approximately 23,000 washes per year. Tammermatic InterClean Group has previously supplied a train wash system to SL.

According to the Tammermatic InterClean Group’s Product Group Manager Lauri Hurme, SL chose Rainbow Ultima train washes because Tammermatic is able to supply a total package that includes water circulation and filtration systems, as well as the washing chemicals used in the machines. Tammermatic also has an extremely workable maintenance and repair service in Sweden. Hurme guesses that Tammermatic’s Scandinavian references also influenced the selection of a washer manufacturer.

The new-generation Rainbow Ultima train wash technology is easily managed. The Rainbow Ultima train wash’s control system is modular and programmed with the C++ programming language. Additionally, the control system is graphical, and the washing programmes can be easily modified by the customer at the user interface according to the demands of the customer’s vehicles. The water recycling efficiency of a biological water circulation system for a train wash equipped with the filtration technology is 70-80%.
