ByYou will be travelling at high-speed having scanned a ticket that's been synced with your Apple Watch. A pad on the arm of your seat will be charging your smartphone, and whilst the 6G connection allows you a seamless connection to the office, you order a snack to be delivered straight to your seat via an App.
The train will be driverless, with its mission critical systems constantly monitored by a central control centre kept up to date via satellite. Maintenance will be predominantly preventative, keeping delays to minimum, problems trackside or wayside will first be spotted by drones...
A vision of the future perhaps, although to various degrees, all of these innovations are already happening within our industry.
