China Aerospace Science and Industry (CASIC), in collaboration with automotive manufacturing firm Zhejiang Geely Holding Group (Geely), intends to develop next-generation high-speed trains.
CASIC and Geely will extend their co-operation in exchanging technical capabilities and expertise to facilitate the development of supersonic bullet trains, under an agreement signed during an aerospace industry show held in Zhuhai, China.

The data will enable the operator to improve the situational awareness and reduce the response time during emergency conditions.
The platform also features smart incident management capability and offers immediate corrective measures during unforeseen incidents.
Scheduled for completion by 2020, S-AWARE implementation is expected to cost €2m ($2.29m).
Renfe, a state-owned train operator based in Spain, has agreed to collaborate with Texas Central on the Texas high-speed passenger train project.
Renfe will act as the strategic operating partner for the high-speed train project linking North Texas, Brazos Valley and Houston, under the agreement.
The high-speed train will operate at a speed of 320km/h and will take 90 minutes to complete a single trip.
STRABAG Rail has agreed to offload its rail milling business to Vossloh, a rail technology company based in Germany.
Vossloh will acquire four milling machines and retain 30 Strabag employees.
The acquisition will result in the integration of the Vossloh milling segment with Strabag’s rail milling business. The milling segment will be operated by Vossloh’s Alpha Rail Team.
Vossloh intends to strengthen its rail and switch maintenance portfolio through the acquisition.
