Stadler has won a contract from transportation services provider Arriva Netherlands to provide maintenance services to 69 trains.

Stadler will offer its services to 18 WINK trains and 51 renovated GTW units under the 15-year maintenance contract, which will run from 2020 to 2035.

Systemwide E&M Project Office Department of Rapid Transit System Taipei City Government (SEMPO) has awarded a €378m ($443m) contract to French firm Alstom and Taiwanese construction engineering company CTCI.

The contract is for the delivery of an integrated metro system for Taipei Metro Line 7 phase one. Alstom’s share in the contract is approximately €220m ($258m).

The contractual scope includes the delivery of the supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) system, platform screen doors, 19 Metropolis trains, and Urbalis communications-based train control (CBTC) driverless signalling system.

Alstom will also work in tandem with CTCI for system integration and project management.

CTCI will be responsible for track establishment, power supply, ticketing systems, telecommunication and depot equipment.

A consortium of Hyundai Rotem, BES Engineering and Siemens has secured a metro rail contract from Taoyuan City Government in Taiwan for the supply of electrical and mechanical solutions for the Green Line metro.

Seimes will provide its Trainguard MT CBTC system and traction drives for the trains, as well as install direct-current (DC) traction power supply.

Public Transport Authority of Western Australia (WA) has awarded an A$136m ($100m) contract to Huawei Australia for the development and maintenance of digital radio systems for Perth’s rail network.

The joint venture (JV) of Huawei and UGL will execute the contract and be responsible for providing voice and data services across the rail network.

The scope of the contract includes the design and installation of the radio system across 180km of the network. The contractor will also maintain the end-to-end digital radio solution for a period of five years.

The radio systems will make use of a 1,800MHz spectrum of PTA to operate over a 3GPP long-term evolution (LTE) network.

Siemens has secured a $37m contract from the North County Transit District (NCTD) in the US for the delivery of five new Coaster locomotives.

The new locomotives will replace the older trains, which were developed between 1975 and 1992.

The deliveries of the locomotives are expected to begin in March 2021.

NCTD intends to enhance the passenger services in San Diego County through the deployment of new trains.

SNCF Logistics has signed an agreement with COMSA Corporacion for the acquisition of the remaining 75% stake in Spanish private rail company COMSA Rail Transport for an undisclosed sum.

SNCF Group, the parent company of SNCF Logistics, holds a 25% stake in COMSA Rail Transport.

The company will be rebranded as CAPTRAIN Spain, upon completion of the transaction.
