Siemens Mobility has secured a £1.5bn ($1.91bn) contract from London Underground, a subsidiary of Transport for London (TfL), for the design and manufacturing of 94 Tube trains.
The trains will operate on the Piccadilly, Bakerloo, Central and Waterloo & City Deep Tube lines in London.

Tata Consultancy Services, an IT and consulting services provider based in India, in collaboration with SAP, intends to develop SAP Leonardo-powered Intelligent Rail Digital Maintenance (iRDM) solution.
The TCS iRDM solution will assist rail customers in transforming their businesses through digitalisation. It will utilise technology such as advanced analytics, big data, machine learning and the internet of things (IoT).
The advanced solution can also be used to perform safety inspections using drones and monitor assets to offer timely maintenance services in order to avoid component failures.
The implementation of the solution will reduce unplanned outages and capital investments, as well as improve efficiency and safety features.
